- Tumblr is going to be used as a production journal. This will help keep track of your thoughts, ideas and progress through the course. (Your Personal Perspective)
- YouTube is going to be used to share the films you make.
- Twitter is going to be a timeline and basic news channel devoted only to your projects and thoughts on the Blog & YouTube channel.
- Gmail was needed to start all the accounts. also you can receive business email through this service.
This has all been created to have a more professional area to develop your films, share your progress and to keep organized. Please try to keep your account professional.
Later we will link your twitter account to the blog and YT (YouTube) Channel.
Creating Your Brand
The first thing you need todo when creating a brand online is think of a name.
Now to make sure the name isn’t being used anywhere else, type it in to Google and use quotation marks to make Google only bring up results with those words.
Search through some of the results and make sure they aren’t any large websites. YOU WANT TO BE ORIGINAL!!
If to many results come up for your name then start over again until you find one that doesn’t have lots of content
next your going to check the availability on 4 websites that your are going to use.
- Gmail
- YouTube
- Twitter
- Tumblr
If your name doesn’t work on these, you have to start over again. If it works on each site you can complete your registration!

World Wide Web
Before we start putting content online to share with the world, i want to share some of the issues we have to be careful of while being on the internet.
A huge issue is identity theft thats why you never put your real name online, unless your a professional and have too. For this project you don’t need to so we are going to use an alias or brand.
Another issue is not thinking and just putting any type of content online. This is a problem because everything online is backed up and you don’t have access to it and can’t delete it. Basically think of it as a giant vault everything you put online you can never get it back because you don’t have the code… even if you erase it!
Your I.P. address is another problem, don’t ever put anything online that is against the law. Your I.P. address tracks your computer to the internet, so really if the law has a problem with you they can find you.
Now i’m sorry to scare you a bit but it had to be done. in this age we have to protect ourselves at all times even in this digital realm.
